About R1V4L
Sports news is easy to find. What it means is not.
R1V4L covers football, Formula 1 and hockey in English, from Europe, for readers anywhere.
It is written by solely by founder and editor: Jakub Javor, a journalist accredited by the Slovak Syndicate of Journalists.
What this site does.
R1V4L does not break news and does not try to. ESPN, Sky and the wire services have reporters inside the clubs, and they will always be first. Racing them is a game with one outcome. What is left after the facts arrive is the more interesting part: the question the coverage stopped one step short of asking, the detail buried in paragraph nine, the two reported facts that do not sit together, the number everyone is quoting that nobody has checked. That is what gets published here, usually a day after the noise has passed rather than during it.
How it is put together
Every piece is built from public reporting, traced back to whoever actually reported it first. Not to the aggregator that repeated them. Where sources disagree, the article says so instead of quietly picking one. Where something is reported rather than confirmed, it is written that way. Nothing is invented: no quotes, no fees, no contract lengths, no injury details. When an argument made here turns out to be wrong, that gets written down too, in public, with the date on it.
What this site does not have
No insider sources. No one at any club takes these calls. There is no wire feed, no agency subscription, no press-release pipeline, and no editorial line handed down by an owner. Photographs are either taken here or properly licensed, with the photographer credited. That is a smaller operation than the sites you already read. It is also why nothing here is written to keep anyone happy.
